In today’s discussion, we dive into:

Are you and your partner tired of watching Netflix all day?

Yeah! That can get kind of old 895487 days later…or you know…however long it’s been we’ve been in quarantine/lockdown.

Do you know how long it’s been? either.  I lost count!

But hey, as we are staying healthy, we can’t really complain. In the meantime,  I’ve compiled a list for you and your loved one to enjoy that doesn’t involve Netflix!

Are you ready? Let’s go!

1) Have a cooking competition

This may be a bit difficult if you don’t have much of an audience to taste it, so I have some tips.  You can score each other on prep time and presentation.  When it comes to tasting the food, for the first few bites, blindfold your partner and have them taste both dishes. Have them tell you which bite they liked most then switch places.

2) Teach another your native language

If someone in the relationships speaks a language the other doesn’t, now is the perfect time to share that knowledge!   Challenge your partner to only speak in your native tongue.  If both of you know all the same languages, learn a new one together. Tip:  I recommend ASL, just because it’s so accessible, but really any language will do! Dulingo is an easy to use and free app for language learners of all levels.

3) Have a BBQ and movie night

I mean, come on.  This is a fun one.  You can lick some BBQ sauce off your fingers AND watch a good movie?  Yup!  I’m in.  Tip:  If you have a backyard, think of buying a screen projector so you can set up an outdoor theatre!  With the weather getting warmer, that could be pretty cool.

4) Enjoy a relaxing spa day

I don’t care if you’re a guy or a girl, who’s going to say no to a back massage or a facial.  It’s relaxing for everyone.  Give each other facials, soak your feet, and nails, and maybe give each other an oil back massage.  Let loose and have fun with each other.

5) Have a fun game night

You can make up your own trivia games, learn chess, play twister(and no, you’re not too old to play).  Tip: If you’re playing a game, such as charades, you have the option to skype with some of your friends and family and have them join in on the fun as well!

6) Develop a workout routine

This is something that can last long term. It’s something productive to add to your morning routine.  And yes, even if you’re not going anywhere, it makes a significant difference when you “start your day.”  This means make your bed, get dressed, have a hearty breakfast, and in this case, workout.  Not every day will be perfect, but when having the energy, we should try to be productive as we can.

7) Garden

Did you know that gardening can be therapeutic?  I didn’t either, that is until I started gardening.  It brings about a certain zen. The great thing is, you don’t need a back yard to enjoy it either.  There are a lot of plants you can grow indoors.  Amazon even has a convertible greenhouse.  If you’re interested, I’ll leave the link right here

8) Sports

It’s not about scoring, its about breaking a sweat and releasing those endorphins. But, not going to lie, it is a bit funny when you score on him, ladies. 🙂

9) Art competition

Another competition for the artsy and not so artsy.  So many people think of themselves as not great artists.  But have you ever wondered if you’re better than your spouse?  Nows a good as time as any to find out!

10) Give each other a makeover

You can choose to give yourselves a silly makeover or, make it the best turn around it can be. Either way, it can be a lot of fun, the choice is all yours. 🙂
